The Arabic meaning of Nora can be translated into light and beauty. With her brand the designer and founder wants to bring color, light and beauty to all the woman in the world. Nora’s bags started when designer and founder Hanane , as a child first became acquainted with the Mosaic arts in Morocco. She became fascinated by the craft of mosaics during a school trip to Rabat. The colors and shapes made such a great impression on Hanane that she decided to study history to learn even more about the origin of these beautiful works of art.
As a child her interests were in fashion, but unfortunately Hanane grew up in a world where her dreams were not given any room to develop. This changed when Hanane met her Dutch husband and moved from Morocco to The Netherlands. With the support of her husband, she regained her strength and decided to pursue and realize her childhood dream.
Her bags are a symbol of strength and a daily reminder for women that their dreams are also within reach if they are able to see the strength within themselves…

Inspired by art

Nora’s bags merging of art, color, quality, and durability makes the brand unique. Nora’s bags distinguishes itself by not choosing dark and dull colors. But by choosing color combinations that you often see in mosaic artworks found in her motherland, Morocco. These color combinations and details ensure that the bag exudes character. It shows us the rich history of many handcrafts from the Middle East, North Africa, and Andalus, and shows us the value of history and art.
